In the 2019 season opener, the University of North Florida Ospreys will take on division foe College of Charleston at home for the first time since 2011. The dirty birds start the season off ranked No. 20 in the country in the MCLA Pre-season Coaches Poll and No. 19 in the Inside Lacrosse top 20.
While UNF returns all but one starter from the 2019 season, College of Charleston will suit up 14 freshman. One of the stories of the game will be at the X as both clubs return their senior faceoff men in Jon Knox for the Cougars and the Duo of Tye McGhee and Steph Rotolante for the Ospreys. Cougars held a 12-9 advantage in the last meeting.
the UNF offense that scored 208 goals last season will be led by a trio of transfers in 2018 Honorable Mention All-American Jason Randolph (St. Leo), Garret Arnold (Jacksonville University). and new comer Matt Keeler (U. Indy). Senior Attack man Ryan Pasinski will be sporting a new number this season with hopes of improving on his third team conference selection from last year.
The Dirty Bird defense which finished atop their division in goals allowed in 2018 will look mighty familiar as they return all but one with the additions of freshman Gabe Cirillo and Flagler College transfer Austin Prince. As well as new goalies Joe Kissick and Graham Gaver. Nobody that accounted for a point in last years contest returns for College of Charleston so it will be a new look offense for the Dirty Birds to figure out.
It's a new year with high expectations for the Ospreys and It all starts here.
